Andrew Price

Andrew Price was born and raised in Lichfield, Staffordshire.

He began his hairdressing career in 1983 with a Saturday job, becoming a full time apprentice later that year. After 3 years of training he became a senior stylist and then progressed to Art Director and eventually manager of a busy salon in Lichfield.

Andrew Price

During his time working in Lichfield, Andrew participated in numerous shows and seminars in various towns and cities including London, Manchester and Newcastle.

While working in the Midlands, Andrew used to visit Tenby on holiday and while there he noticed there was a distinct lack of up-to-date hairdressers. Upon seeing this gap in the market he decided that Tenby would be the ideal place to open his first salon.

His success and detail to excellent customer service provided a stepping stone to open further shops in Carmarthen in 1989 and 2005, Haverfordwest in 1991, Llanelli in 1999, Swansea in 2000, a Training Academy in 2001, Lampeter in 2008, Cardigan in 2012 and Narberth 2013.

Andrew is unique in his approach to share his success and in doing this, motivates and gives opportunity to all staff to inspire and educate themselves within the company with future possibilities being to acquire their own salon franchised under the group name.

Still working the job, Andrew gives all salons time by working regular columns. This allows him to mentor and give guidance at all times and to make sure the quality of service that the group advocates are paramount at all times, and continues with new innovations.

The Company

The Tenby salon was the first salon to be opened in May 1988 with the aid of a low interest loan from the Princes Youth Business Trust. The business quickly flourished due to its policy of offering the very best hair care accompanied by top quality service.

The second salon was opened in Caramarthen in 1989, which was then followed by the Haverfordwest salon in 1991. Then followed the opening of the Llanelli salon in September 1999, the Swansea salon in July 2000 and the Andrew Price Training Academy in February 2001.

In October 2005 the sixth salon was opened, this being the second in Carmarthen and the flagship of the company and due to its central location and excellent facilities, Andrew re-sited the Training Academy to the first floor. In April 2008 a seventh salon was opened in Lampeter, followed by the opening of the Cardigan salon in 2012 and Narberth in October 2013.

The company's aim is to ensure the impeccable standards of quality and service, for which they are renowned, are not only maintained but also continually improved.

Andrew believes that the key to the success of the salons is in the professionalism and standards of service given. To ensure that this is always at an excellent level, the Andrew Price group worked towards and achieved the investors in people award. In obtaining this award, it has strengthened the qualities of the the staff through training, and improved the overall business performance with all staff employed by the group. The group since obtaining the award, has been reviewed and retained its recognition three times.

The Andrew Price group continues to grow from strength to strength and is currently looking to expand further within west wales.
